Criteria for handicap prizes:
- Must be a paid up member of Penicuik Harriers by 30th November in the year in question.
- The McEwan Quaich will be presented to the member(s) (female or male) who has attended the most handicaps in the calendar year (January – December). To allow for injury or illness a maximum of 2 attendance credits as a handicap volunteer helper within the calendar year can be taken into account. In the event of a tie, the winners will hold the trophy for the appropriate proportion of the year.
- Additional Awards will be presented to the first Female & first Male who have:
a) Completed the requisite minimum number of qualifying Handicaps as outlined below
and
b) In the opinion of the Club Coaches, shown the best overall improvement over the calendar year (January – December). - To ensure a fair reflection over the year, must have completed a minimum of 2/3rds of the planned Handicaps in the year, normally 8, but subject to adjustment in qualifying number because of cancellations e.g. adverse weather, etc. as follows:
• 12 handicaps held, 8 to qualify
• 11 handicaps held, 7 to qualify
• 10 handicaps held, 7 to qualify
• 9 handicaps held, 6 to qualify
• 8 handicaps held, 5 to qualify
• 7 handicaps held , 5 to qualify
• 6 handicaps held , 4 to qualify
